Tȟatȟáŋka Íyotake “Slow”

He went out from the human beings,

and stuffed the skull with sage.

He then became emblazoned in gold.
One hundred pieces of flesh
were cut from his body,
his limbs ran red with blood.
He danced, and dreamed,
till warriors fell from the sky.

Sun Dance

He danced beneath the eye of God.

Sitting Bull by hungrybison

He danced amongst the shadows.

He danced until his blood,

had soaked the ground,

on which he tread.

Until he saw both  devils and angels,

for what they were.
