Barefoot Girl

Barefoot girl
whirlwind like
amongst
brittle leaves.

A hollow mouthed kiss
beneath the cottonwoods
and pinholes of light.

The fragrance of
lily of the valley,
a sharp pain,
it was all over in minutes.
