Sun Dogs and Wooden Boys

Sun dogs
and wooden boys

A pile of feathers in the grass
A wing, all that remains

So the flame threatens
the song of the trees

And the wind plucks the wire
which once carried the voices

This is the dance into the abyss,
the nothingness
that was present
before we burdened the land
