In the Forest

Go deep
into the forest
among the rocks
you’ll
find her

Be gentle,
she is asleep

Speak softly
she will awaken

Place dew on her cheeks,
three drops

You will find that
she has prepared for me
a pillow of moss
and has woven for me
a blanket of willow

Ask her to roast for me
a leg of venison.

I return soon.
