Two Eagles

Dark valley

Shadows
Blistered feet
Tin cup belly

Within sight of the fence
Which separates
Two eagles

Shuttered building guard
Unanswered prayers and
Bone thin dreams

A lifetime of throwing
Tiny stones into the river
And still no way to get across
